Potential Dealers

Development

In 2015, we set out to develop a window film, specifically, to help ease the symptoms people experience from the sun.  There are so many people out there that are negatively affected by the sun, that we wanted to make sure people can feel safe and protected in their vehicles.  We started with a team of professionals from multiple different industries.  Through their experiences, we gathered a list of medical conditions that are attributed to the sun, along with any known materials that could mitigate the suns effects on these conditions.  Then, over the next 7 years, our chemists formulated a window film that is optically clear (80%VLT), rejects 99+% UAA-UVB rays, and has an incredible 94% IRR(infrared rejection).

In 2022, we started installation testing with real shops/installers.  Certain small changes have been made since installation testing, so we now have a final product.  We are currently in between phases.  The current phase is, we are offering this product for installation on customer vehicles in a small select number of shops.  We have ramped up production and are ready for distribution to shops around the country, starting with the east coast.

The next phase is to build a nationwide network of installers that have true exclusivity rights.  We will make sure that there is only one authorized installer per region.  Once we have installers in every city/region, marketing will be ramped up.  We will shift our focus from obtaining great installers, to making sure everyone in the country wants this film.

Our goal is to eventually have nationally aired television ads that target our main demographic.

Current Success

The feedback from installers and end user clients have been extremely positive to say the least.  This is a simple list in no particular order and are not always direct quotes and may be paraphrased.

  • It makes any windshield look just like a high-end piece of glass.  It has that very slight reflectivity that a luxury SUV has.
  • Our sales keep going up because we are now reaching a market that we never had before.  Whether we (installers) like it or not, there is a very large part of the population that wants nothing to do with tint on their vehicle.  These are the same demographic that NEED Derma-Film.  Many of these people are told by their medical professionals that they cannot be in the sun.  So, they give up on driving all together.  This film gets people back in their cars without really darkening the glass.
  • This film was designed as an automotive film but works great on residential and commercial applications as well.  You have to be more careful putting it on flat glass because it is a little more pliable than other res/comm window films, but it’s definitely worth it because it has that clarity AND heat rejection that people want.
  • It’s so easy to sell because there are so many people that don’t do the front windshield for legal purposes.  The number of windshields that we tint on a daily basis went from about 3 to 5 per day to well over 10.
  • Shrinks well and installs well enough. The clarity is perfect, no sign of adhesive failure or color fade.

Sales

What you can expect for sales of this film will vary depending on how much you really try to push it.  Currently the brand awareness of Derma-Film varies depending on the region, therefore, your office salesman will be the best way to determine your projected sales.  Once the brand awareness begins to rise, more and more clients will ask for it by name.

Regional Exclusivity

We are very strict on the spacing of our installers.  As a dealer, you can enjoy the peace of mind that no other shop in your area will be allowed to become a dealer.  This makes sure that your sales aren’t hindered by any local competition.  Therefore, it is a good idea to become a dealer as soon as possible to make sure that your nearest competitor doesn’t get it first.

Minimums

We do require that you charge your clients a minimum price for the film and installation.  This information will be divulged to you once you become a dealer.  We currently do not have any minimums required by you for purchase from us.  After your initial order, you do not have to purchase again in any set timeframe.  However, if after a year, no other order is made, we will contact you to check up on things and you may run the risk of losing your dealer status only if someone else in your region is interested.

Becoming a dealer – Process

Becoming a dealer is easy.  If we have contacted you, that means you already meet the requirements.  We will send you an access code that you can enter on the register page to create an account.  Then simply go to the dealer login to gain access to the store.  There you can read the welcome letter and make your initial order.  Your initial order will come with a desktop display, warranty cards, and tri-fold point of sale brochures.
